A WORD FROM OUR CEO

October 5, 2021

A word from our CEO, Karen White…

As you are aware, our region has been unduly impacted by COVID-19. Over the last few months, our communities have suffered loss of life, friends and family have been hospitalized, and many have been gravely ill from COVID_19 and other diseases.  At Missouri Highlands Health Care,  we mourn with those who have lost loved ones and offer a healing hand to those who are suffering.  The pandemic has caused a loss of another sort within our company – the loss of valued team members as they chose other career paths.  At this time, we are striving hard to maintain consistent clinic operations for medical, dental and behavioral health patients.  During the month of October, there are simply not enough MO Highlands’ team members to administer care to the patients at all of our locations.  I have made the decision to regionalize clinical operations in several of our medical clinics during October.  My teams work hard each day and I ask your patience and grace with them as they deliver care to our vulnerable rural communities. Of late, my care teams have been on the receiving end of numerous attacks and harassments from disgruntled patients.  As was recently pointed out, last year health care team members were the hero’s in our communities placing their lives on the line to care for patients and now, in these same communities we are daily attacked.  Join with me in support of our valued care teams as they work short handed during this unprecedented time.  We anticipate this interruption in daily care to only be short-lived and appreciate your continued support.
