Missouri Highlands Health Care Patient Assistance Program offers assistance to patients who qualify, including but not limited to, obtaining certain prescription medications at free or reduced costs.

Each pharmaceutical company determines their own guidelines that frequently change. (Applications are approved by the Pharmaceutical/Manufacturing Company, not Missouri Highlands Health Care. Each pharmaceutical company has their own policy and guidelines that must be followed.)

Missouri Highlands Health Care Patient Assistance Program staff is committed to helping patients’ understand their prescription coverage whether it be commercial insurance, state funded insurance or Medicare Part D coverage.

Missouri Highlands Health Care Patient Assistance Program staff is committed to help those with no prescription coverage obtain medications through pharmaceutical companies, 340b program and discount pharmacies.

Missouri Highlands Health Care has served 455 patients in the last twelve months, and has managed to save each patient $4289.60 on average.  In the month of August the total savings was $159,423, the total savings for the quarter (June- August) was $461,406 and the total year to date savings was $1,951,771.

In the end, you get the prescribed medications needed to complete your treatment plan or manage your illness at a price you can afford.

Do you have diabetes, Obesity (BMI>30) or pediatric asthma (up to age 20)?

Do you have two of the following conditions? Asthma, COPD, Cardiovascular Disease (HTN), a developmental disability, overweight (BMI 25-29), use tobacco (smoke or chew), anxiety, depression and/or substance use disorder.

If you qualify, then Missouri Highlands will provide monthly education and interaction with one of our RN Care Managers. Together we will schedule your referral appointments, help you set goals and make a care plan to achieve them and be a go-between if you have a question for your Primary Care Provider.

-You are age 35-64
-You are uninsured or under insured
-Income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level for household income.

Screening Services:
– Clinical breast exams (CBE)
– Screening mammograms for women age 50-64 (target population)
– Screening mammograms for women 40-49 using alternate funds, if available
– Pap tests
– Pelvic exams

Diagnostic Services:
– Specialist consultation (breast and cervical)
– Diagnostic mammograms
– Ultrasound
– Breast biopsies
– Fine needle aspiration
– Conization [Cold Knife, laser, Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)]
– Colposcopy (with or without biopsy)

Mobile Dental Unit

The Missouri Highlands Mobile Dental Unit provides services including preventative care, restorative care, and necessary emergency treatment. Services are initially geared toward our child populations in school and hopefully will continue to expand into adolescents and adults.

The unit is currently only visiting schools that are set up for this program.
